Have been struggling with art block lately (summer is my least favourite season). Looks like the tide is turning, though. :)
(Cover ideas, very rough at this point.)
I’m still fooling around (worked on her face mostly so far), but here’s one thought I had about an outfit.
The thinking behind this is based on the fact that Samara compares her role as a Justicar with that of a knight-errant. Also, unless I’m terribly wrong, she has no possessions. From such a roving, deprived lifestyle - and being quite old for an asari, I feel her appearance should be at least somewhat worn.
As for the outfit, it should be something practical - e.g. suited for combat. Since the devs went for the claim that her abyssal cleavage was okay because she relied on barriers, I’m not going for armour, either.
A tighter top might be more comfortable, though.
I usually love my first rough sketches, and if I’m lucky, the finished result will be decent, too. But I hate these intermediate stages with a passion.
Now that I’m relatively free of artistic obligations, I should like to do some Mass Effect related art. I have in mind to make a small collection of alternate character concepts, mostly to rectify the very annoying tarting up of female characters from Mass Effect 2 onwards.
This is still a very early sketch, posted partly to show how messy my starting stages can be.
Cookies if you can tell who this character will be. :)
I want these roses to look like nightmarish vortices.
Some progress on the cover. Not nearly at the pace it should be, but I was stuck. Getting where it should be now, though.
Sneak peek of current work in progress.
Still need a crypt. #_#
